Joining A Team One of the most effective ways to work for change is joining a Transformation Team. Teams are developed and trained to organize for change within their institution. Team members attend twelve days of training where they are introduced to a socio-historical analysis of racism in the United States, learn to use education as a tool of organizing, are introduced to organizing skills and develop a strategy to effect change in their organization. The first step to joining a team is contacting its members. Have a conversation with them about the work of the team, their goals for the region, and their plans to expand the team. Ask them which kind of commitment is expected of members: length of commitment, number of meetings a year, hours of work a month. Attend one of the workshops offered by the team. Ask for a reading list. Attend an Introduction to the Analysis Training. Gather as much information as you can about the team and their ministry before choosing to join. Currently we have teams in seventeen regions. Alabama-Northwest Florida Region We are also working to develop teams in four other regions. Kentucky Region | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
