30-Day Special Appeal Closes For Reconciliation Mission

March, 2006

The 30-day special appeal for Reconciliation Mission has ended. “This has been an incredible month for Reconciliation Mission (RM),” said Jessica Vazquez, Transitional Minister of RM. “One filled with moments of profound gratitude and constant reminders of God’s abundance. We thank the whole church for their outpouring of support.”

The 30-day special appeal brought in over $48,000 in gifts and pledges, but fell below the $87,000 goal needed for ministry in 2006.

A $2,500 gift from Global Ministries/Division of Overseas Ministries was received this week, as a way of “expressing and affirming that ministry,” said DOM President David A. Vargas.

Reconciliation Mission has included articles recently on a number of important issues facing the church and the nation. This week, Vaughn K. Beckman, Senior Minister at First Christian Church in San Jose, Calif., looks at the issue of immigration in his paper, “Jesus Does Not See People as 'Legal' and 'Illegal'." www.disciples.org/dns/Releases2006/0636.html
